SPP is hosting the 2024 TechExpo in Little Rock, AR, on July 31, 2024.  This influential event in the power and energy industry demonstrates the latest advancements and trends. The TechExpo focuses on various topics, including Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs), Resilience technologies, the future of long-distance transmission, and Inverter Based Resources (IBRs) and Inverter Based Loads (IBLs), and operation and planning tools for IBR management and availability for future power systems. The event brings together industry experts, technology providers, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss and highlight innovative solutions for the future of Bulk Energy Systems (BESs).  We are pleased to announce that experts from LineVision, Smart Wires Inc., Synergetic, Department of Energy Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Texas A&M university, Siemens Energy (SE), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Electric Power Engineers (EPE) , Washington State University (WSU), and University of Connecticut (UCONN)will be presenting on innovative research in:

  • Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) - The next step on the Advanced Line Ratings Journey
  • The Role of Advanced Power Flow Control (APFC) in Transmission Grids
  • Delivering the Digital Age: Turbocharging the Electric Grid with Hydrogen Pipelines
  • Assessment of the synchronous operations of the North American Eastern and Western Interconnections
  • Sub Synchronous Oscillations (SSOs) and converter driven stability analysis
  • EMT Simulation/HVdc Systems Research: Overview
  • Experience of design of VSC-HVDC lines
  • Planning tools for managing uncertainties in future power grids
  • Risk-aware power system variability management for market operations with machine learning
