Economic Planning
The Economic Planning department performs economic studies for SPP Engineering. This includes economic analysis and development of proposed transmission upgrades through the Integrated Transmission Planning, Balance Portfolio process, high priority study process, Sponsored Upgrades and Interregional Projects pursuant to the requirements set forth in Attachment O of the SPP Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT). This department also analyzes benefit metrics for the Regional Cost Allocation Review (RCAR) and performs other ad hoc planning studies requiring economic analysis.
The Economic Planning department primarily supports the Economic Studies Working Group (ESWG) and interacts with many other groups including the Transmission Working Group (TWG), Cost Allocation Working Group (CAWG), Regional Allocation Review Task Force (RARTF), Markets and Operations Policy Committee (MOPC), Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) and the SPP Board of Directors (BOD).
