Markets+ Transmission Availability Design Team

Markets+ is a conceptual bundle of services proposed by SPP that would centralize day-ahead and real-time unit commitment and dispatch, provide hurdle-free transmission service across its footprint and pave the way for the reliable integration of a rapidly growing fleet of renewable generation.

The structure and selection of transmission availability services for Markets+ will be developed through a collaborative stakeholder process to maximize the transmission available to Markets+ while:

  • maintaining transmission service provider (TSP) roles and responsibilities such as planning, rate setting & terms of service
  • preserving firm network and point-to-point rights
  • enabling base scheduling of energy, capacity and flexibility prior to Markets+ operating window

The Markets+ Transmission Availability Design Team is open to participation from any interested stakeholder.

Stakeholder Leads for the group are:

  • Mike Linn, Director - Market Analytics, Public Power Council
